BUFFALO GROVE, Ill., May 19, 2008 − Siemens Fire Safety released an enhanced version of the FireFinder XLS Life Safety System with new features and functions that allow users to configure its Person Machine Interface (PMI) for broader deployment internationally.With PMI-INT, FireFinder XLS users can set the panel to display one of four new languages besides English: French, Spanish, Hebrew and Portuguese. According to Siemens, this feature alone will allow the panel exceptional global coverage because in most countries around the world, there is fluency in one or more of these languages.
Enterprises with operations located in multiple countries can now standardize on FireFinder XLS panels, configure them to meet local codes and language standards, and count on Siemens’ global reach to ensure consistent installation and service worldwide.FireFinder XLS now features global operation, new functionality that provides a central point of annunciation and control for networked FireFinder XLS and MXL systems. It shows events occurring on any MXL or FireFinder XLS on the network. A globally configured FireFinder PMI will connect to global printers, such as the PAL-1 parallel printer, TSP-40A internal thermal strip printer, or a serial printer for ease of printing network events.
This latest version of FireFinder XLS also supports the CCU/M interface module for notification of events via an alphanumeric pocket pager.Other enhancements include a programmable switch damper monitor trouble delay that allows monitoring of open, transition and closed damper states and a printer that supports all available languages.
