October 28, 2016 - Siemens has extended its portfolio of network components with the Ruggedcom RSL910 - an Ethernet switch designed to operate in harsh environments with widely varying climatic and environmental conditions. Withstanding temperatures from -40 up to +70 degrees Celsius, vibration and shock, this device offers reliability for transportation applications such as rail and ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems).

The two Gigabit SFP (Small Form Factor Pluggable) and the two EoVDSL2 (Ethernet over VDSL2) uplinks offer a migration path to fiber optics when required. The 6 copper Fast Ethernet interface lets users connect multiple end devices directly to the RSL910 without the need for additional network equipment. The Ruggedcom RSL910 supports multiple AC and DC voltage input ranges.
