October 2, 2006 - SKF modular range precision rail guides enable users to tailor assemblies using different internal design and/or rolling elements to suit application requirements without changing overall rail dimensions. This provides the capability to satisfy or upgrade specific needs for load-carrying capacity, stiffness, and operating characteristics without modifying rail design or changing an overall system.Modular range precision rail guides serve as ideal solutions for linear guidance and positioning applications requiring limited strokes, high stiffness, smooth operation, and positioning accuracy.
Examples include grinding, inspection, and other equipment requiring travel lengths less than 16 in., such as applications in the semiconductor, electronics, and medical industries, among others.Guides can incorporate crossed-roller cage assemblies, crossed-roller assemblies featuring a non-slip cage (to prevent cage-creep), ball cage assemblies, needle roller cage assemblies, and dry sliding coating to meet particular demands. All guides are available in a variety of sizes with rail guide lengths ranging from 20mm to 1000mm.
Custom guides can be engineered.Users can further take advantage of kit packaging for this product line. Each kit consists of four-piece rail guide set, two cages, and eight end pieces. All required components are supplied in ready-to-mount sets and can be ordered quickly and easily.
