This new ASIC joins the company's extensive line of Fieldbus modems currently supplied to leading instrument manufacturers. The FB4050offers all the functionality of the field proven FB3050 Fieldbus Communication Controller plus an added Floating Point Unit and 160-segment LCD driver. Among its other features, the FB4050 contains an integratedManchester encoder/decoder, DMA controller and automatic frame check sequence detection/generation and address recognition.
The FB4050 was designed specifically for easy integration with Mitsubishi M16 and Intel 80186/80188 families of microprocessors and is fully compatible with Foundation Fieldbus and Profibus Foundation applications and designs.Smar is continuously developing new and improved communication components and devices for the Process Control Industry.
