New chip designed to give instrument manufacturers increased options at lower cost.

A new chip level HART® modem was introduced here today at the annual ISA conference by Smar Research Corporation, an international supplier of advanced HART®, Fieldbus, and Profibus technologies. The new modem, designated HT2015, joins the companys extensive line of HART® modems currently supplied to leading HART® instrument manufacturers.The HT2015 fills an important niche for HART® instrument manufacturers, according to Basilio Selli, Managing Director of Holbrook, NY based SRC.
The HT2015 can be used in all designs currently using the SYM20C15 chip, giving current users of that chip a viable option he said. The HT2015 meets all HART® physical layer requirements, and is optimal for intrinsically safe applications.
