September 19, 2011 - SoftDEL announces Aerodel Designer, a multi-vendor multi-protocol industrial wireless network planning tool. Aerodel Designer is aimed at providing SI and OEM planning and field engineers with a solution to make wireless site surveys easy and efficient. Every industrial wireless sales lead today requires a physical site visit to study, plan and test a sample network. As industrial wireless demand picks up, OEM and SI sales force will need a way to quickly model and estimate a site’s requirement thus increasing their sales effectiveness. Aerodel Designer enables engineers to quickly filter sales leads, provide rough budgeting and feasibility estimates thus making the necessary site survey easy and efficient.
It supports IEEE802.11 and IEC62591-WirelessHART networks. Other protocols, such as ISA100.11a and ZigBee, will be added in future releases. In addition, in future releases, specific hardware devices and antennas will be supported to increase the accuracy of the network design over the generic radios and devices currently being used.
Aerodel Designer aims to bring the ability for OEM and SI sales force engineers to visualize the network, plan heterogeneous networks, model multiple scenarios, customize device parameters and quickly estimate requirements.
