Softing adds MQTT protocol to echocollect gateway
Alongside OPC UA and other control protocols, the echocollect gateway (version 7.10) includes publisher functionality of the MQTT (Message Queue Telemetry Transport) protocol.

March 17, 2017 - Softing extends the reach of echocollect gateway to now include the MQTT protocol for connections between process control systems and cloud services such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and IBM Bluemix.

Alongside OPC UA and other control protocols, the echocollect gateway (version 7.10) includes publisher functionality of the MQTT (Message Queue Telemetry Transport) protocol.

As an industry-optimized gateway, echocollect offers a scalable solution for integrating process data from complex systems or multiple machines. Alongside MQTT publisher functionality, data can be made available to ERP, MES or SCADA applications via the integrated OPC UA server. Other functions offered include bidirectional database connectivity, symbol import from controllers, and local data logging to ensure traceability.

The NetCon configuration software including the new 7.10 firmware will be available as a download on the Softing website starting in April 2017. The MQTT publisher feature can be licensed separately.
