February 4, 2014 - Softing Industrial Automation announced V4.40 of its OPC Classic Development Toolkits. Softing's OPC Toolkits provide quick and easy development of fully compliant OPC Classic Servers and Clients for OPC DA (Data Access), AE (Alarms&Events), and XML-DA. Version V4.40 includes:
- Full Native 64-Bit Support
- develop high-performance OPC products for data-intensive applications
- Support of Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 and .NET V4.5 respectively Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012
- Improved Performance for Read / Write / Subscribe Operations
- resulting in reducing set-up times while configuring OPC Server and Client applications with a large number of items
Version V4.40 is free-of-charge to all customers with an active Service and Support contract. A fully functional trial version (including documentation and examples) of the OPC Classic Toolkit is available as a free download from Softing's web site. OPC Products developed with the trial version are fully functional but execute only for a limited time before the software needs to be restarted.
