This interface provides connectivity to Allen-Bradley Remote I/O, such as 1771, 1747, SLC-500, Flex, and other compatible networks.

August 4, 2011 - SoftPLC releases an interface to the Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley) remote I/O protocol for the company's Smart SoftPLC and Smart Gateway products. This interface provides comprehensive connectivity to Allen-Bradley Remote I/O,such as 1771, 1747, SLC-500, Flex, and other compatible networks. As a Remote I/O Master, users can upgrade existing A-B PLC systems without replacing or re-wiring the I/O, by exchanging the A-B PLC CPU with a Smart SoftPLC controller. Users can even re-use most of the existing logic and program documentation with SoftPLC's automated application conversion utilities. Up to 32 racks are supported.

As a Remote I/O Slave, a SoftPLC Smart Gateway can act as a bridge between an A-B PLC and many other devices on other protocols (not supported by A-B PLC's) or can add SoftPLC's Tealware I/O to an A-B PLC system. A single slave can appear as multiple racks to the A-B PLC.
