DAYTON, OH Stegmann, Inc. introduces the HD20-S31 Heavy Duty Incremental Encoder. The HD20-S31 features a three bearing design that enables high axial and radial shaft loading, while sustaining speeds in excess of 5000 rpm.This incremental encoder provides IP65 protection, and features a small two-inch diameter housing and a heavy-duty shaft.
It is ideal for applications where belt pulleys or other load-producing hardware are attached directly to the encoder shaft, and it eliminates the need for bulky and expensive bearing isolation modules.The HD20-S31 provides 10 to 2500 pulses per revolution with line driver or open collector outputs. With standard duty cycles, the HD20-S31 can provide more than double the bearing life of incremental encoders that feature a standard two bearing design, at the same shaft loading. This incremental encoder provides maximum output frequency to 100kHz and maximum operating speed to 5000 rpm.
