March 7, 2010 - The Model TC3844 Ethernet-over-T1/E1 & T3/E3 Gateway converts Ethernet data into framed or unframed T1/E1 or T3/E3 circuits offered by service providers, microwave links or existing SONET/SDH rings.Typical applications involve deploying multiservice applications to hard-to-reach or remote sites where using fiber is not an option. It is also used to add redundant data paths for mission critical applications and to extend Ethernet backhaul networks. Key features include IEEE 801.p QoS with four queues and VLAN Tagging.
Additional features include Fault Management, Auto-Negotiation with Flow Control, Statistics Monitoring, Network Time Protocol, Remote Firmware Upgrade and Temperature and Power Monitoring.An extreme temperature (-40°C to +80ºC) version is optional and complies with pertinent industry and environmental standards including IEC 61850-3, IEEE1613 & NEMA TS-2.The TC3844 is frequently used as one of 11 hot-swappable and self-configuring interface card options for the JumboSwitch® Industrial Gigabit Ethernet Modular Switch. The JumboSwitch offers all popular features and capabilities of standard Ethernet Switches, but differs in that it bridges Ethernet/IP, VoIP and TDM-over-IP over a redundant Gigabit Ethernet fiber optic backbone.
