Thomas & Betts introduces halogen-free TY-Duct

19 March, 2008
Halogen-Free Ty-Duct product line is suitable for high-temperature applications or where specifications call for products that will not emit toxic or corrosive gases.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (March 19, 2008) – Thomas & Betts added a halogen-free offering to its line of Ty-Duct wiring ducts. The Halogen-Free Ty-Duct product line is ideal for high-temperature applications up to 95º C (203º F) or where specifications call for products that will not emit toxic or corrosive gases. These new Ty-Duct wiring ducts have an optimal UL94 Flammability Rating of V-0. Plus, they are 20 percent lighter than standard PVC materials.

The Halogen-Free Ty-Duct family is designed with the exact same form, fit, and installation as the standard Ty-Duct wiring duct introduced in 2007. A complete solution for routing and concealing wiring in control panels, Ty-Duct wiring duct also simplifies and lowers the cost of installation. Its smooth corners and edges prevent damage or disfigurement of wires, and its V-shaped slot lead-in allows for easier wire insertion. The Ty-Duct product’s two-point contact design enables the cover to be easily installed with less force and remain in place – even under vibration.
