Toshiba releases G5 recorders for Video Surveillance
By employing Intel Core i3, i5, and i7 processors, G5 recorders achieve twice the speed and power of Toshiba's G4 models.

November 8, 2011 - Toshiba Surveillance & IP Video introduced its G5 Series of digital video recorders, doubling the performance of previous generation recorders. By employing Intel Core i3, i5, and i7 processors, G5 recorders achieve twice the speed and power of Toshiba's G4 models.

System memory has also been doubled, along with the incorporation of DVI and HDMI monitor output for dual monitor output to large panel displays, and eSATA and USB3.0 ports for external storage. eSATA has transfer speeds of 3.0Gbit/s and USB3.0 has speeds of 5Gbit/s - 10x faster than USB 2.0 speeds of 480Mbit/s.

G5 Series recorders ship with Microsoft Windows 7 embedded as the operating system, the preferred OS of today's enterprise environments. Four models comprise the G5 family, each offering a wide range of options to customize to exact application needs.

  • DVSe Hybrid Video Server: The versatile DVSe is available in 8 to 32 channels, up to 8TB storage and full hybrid recording for analog and IP cameras.
  • NVSe IP Video Server: Offering the firepower to record up to 64 IP cameras both locally and globally, the NVSe is ideal for larger installations.
