Minneapolis, MN–April 26, 2004–TURCK Inc. introduces the new Q18 proximity sensor. Our Q18 Rectangular Inductive Sensor is the latest addition to our already extensive rectangular Q-Pak® line. Similar in style to our Q25 and Q30 series of inductive sensors, these innovative, one-piece rectangular sensors measure only 18 mm (H) x 18 mm (W) x 29 mm (L). The Q18 sensors provide a low cost solution in applications where standard barrel sensors do not.
This new one-piece rectangular housing offers a non-embeddable sensing range of 5 mm (.197") designed for non-contact sensing of metal objects. These 3-wire DC, 10-30 VDC sensors feature integral circuitry that protects against short-circuit, overload, wire-break and reverse polarity. They are also available with normally open NPN (sinking) or PNP (sourcing) outputs. Designed for use in industrial environments, the Q18 sensor features a durable PBT plastic housing that allows it to operate in temperatures from -25° to +70° C (-13° to +158° F) which is rated NEMA 1, 3, 4, 6, 13 and IEC IP 67.
