Canton, MA (April 11, 2007) — DNA-GPS GPS receiver system adds GPS technology to PowerDNA, UEILogger and UEIPAC data acquisition and control Cubes. The unit provides location, velocity and UTC real time and is a great match for a huge variety of mobile and in-vehicle testing applications. It offers an ideal combination of high accuracy, low power, small size and ease of use.The DNA-GPS is built around the Garmin GPS 16-HVS which provides location information with a positional error less than 3 meters in areas served by the WAAS (most of North America) and 15 meter accuracy worldwide.
Steady state velocity measurements are provided with an accuracy of 0.1 knot. The GPS is also an ideal source of accurate time/date information. Finally, the GPS 1 PPS (pulse per second) output is synchronized to UTC time within ±1 microsecond. This makes the GPS’s 1 PPS signal an exceptionally accurate means to synchronize systems, whether across the room, or across the globe.
“The DNA-GPS is an ideal solution for providing mobile data acquisition and control systems with position, velocity and UTC time information. It is well suited for “in-vehicle” testing including applications in aircraft, automobile, truck and construction equipment. We’ve even been approached to build a GPS based test system for a riding lawnmower” according to Shaun Miller, UEI’s President. “The 1 pulse per second output provides the additional capability of synchronizing systems to within 1 microsecond anywhere in the world.” DNA-GPS - GPS system for UEI “Cube” family - $495 - In stock
