April 22, 2020 – A new video released by Ultimation Industries shows manufacturers, distributors and others how to build an overhead conveyor system that takes advantage of generally unused vertical space above the working area. Overhead conveyors can be used to move products, create buffers and deliver products in sequence in a production process. The most common type of overhead conveyor uses a chain in either an enclosed track or open below an I-beam, driven by a motor with a gearbox. The products to be moved are suspended from trolleys attached to the chain.
Some systems can handle individual loads up to 250 lbs. (115 kg), making them ideal for high-volume production runs or assembly operations. “Customers use conveyor systems to improve productivity, reduce injury and protect against damage,” said Richard Canny, president, Ultimation Industries LLC. “Overhead conveyors can pass through production areas that humans can’t, like through ovens and robot work cells.” In addition to creating customized products for assembly operations, Ultimation offers food safe grade systems and material handling solutions for the vertical farming industry .
The company has recently expanded into smaller, ‘quick ship’ products and systems that are sold through their website and in Amazon’s stores.
