United Electric releases DNA-AO-308 analog output boards
The boards offer 8 analog output channels with maximum update rates of 100 kHz per channel (800 kHz per board), 1500 Volts of isolation, one D/A per channel (allows simultaneous D/A updates), double buffering, low glitch outputs, and three utility digital I/O channels. The boards work with the company's PowerDNA data acquisition system.

Canton, MA (January 17, 2007) — United Electronic Industries (UEI) is pleased to announce the release of the DNA-AO-308 series of analog output boards. Each of the boards offers 8 analog output channels with maximum update rates of 100 kHz per channel (800 kHz per board). However, each board in the family offers a different output configuration. These configurations are shown below.

Board Output Configuration

DNA-AO-308 ±10 Volts, ±5 mA DNA-AO-308-350 ±10 Volts, ±50 mA DNA-AO-308-353 ±40 Volts, ±5 Ma DNA-AO-308-420 4 – 20 mA Other notable specifications of the series include: 1500 Volts of isolation between the Cube and the field wiring, One D/A per channel (allows simultaneous D/A updates), Double buffered, low glitch outputs, and three utility digital I/O channels. “Analog outputs are very important to our customer, both as stimulus generators in test applications as well as control outputs in industrial and process control,” according to UEI President Shaun Miller. “The new D/A boards allow the PowerDNA cube to move far beyond pure DAQ applications while the four different output configurations ensure the cube supplies a simple solution in almost all applications requiring an analog output.”

About the PowerDNA Cube

PowerDNA (Distributed Networked Automation)—is a compact (4” x 4” x 4” or 4” x 4” x 6”) Ethernet based data acquisition and control device. Each PowerDNA Cube consists of a core module (that includes the processor and network interface) along with three or six open I/O slots or layers. Users configure their systems by selecting appropriate I/O boards from UEI’s extensive offering of analog input (up to 24-bit), analog output , digital I/O, counter/timer, CAN bus interface, and multi-port RS-485 and RS-232 boards. Up to 150 analog or 288 digital I/O channels may be installed in a 4” x 4” x 6” Cube!
