December 2, 2010 - Unitronics releases Vision1040 PLC and integrated HMI. This allows machine manufacturers and system integrators to add both a brilliant 10.4” color touch-screen equipped with 9 programmable function key display, and full PLC functionality to their systems at an unbeatable price-performance ratio. Users are able to enjoy up to 1,024 I/O options, a USB programming port, data logging, and built-in recipe capability all while maintaining a low budget, reduced programming time, and minimum wiring. Industrial control processes can now rely on a single device: the Vision1040 can use 24 auto-tuned PID loops to control temperature, level, and pressure, while the 16-bit, 65K SVGA color touch screen displays data, color trend graphs, and attention-grabbing alarm screens.
Display options are almost endless, with more than 1000 user-designed screens, and up to 500 images per application. The memory holds 2MB of application memory, plus 1MB for fonts and 80MB for images. Features include Micro SD card memory storage for data logging and back up, complete PLC cloning and more. The controller is fast; scanning 1K of a typical application in 9 μsec, making it a natural for ‘rapid response’ applications such as packaging machines. Communication options include TCP/IP Ethernet, cellular, and industrial protocols such as MODBUS, DF1 slave, J1939, CANopen and more.
In addition, the Vision1040 can be ‘taught’ to communicate via almost any device-based protocol. Like other members of the Vision series, Vision1040 supports digital, high-speed, and analog I/Os, as well as direct temperature measurement inputs via snap-in and remote I/O modules. Unitronics’ free VisiLogic software provides one user-friendly environment for hardware configuration, modular Ladder application development, and HMI design, including a rich color library of industrial images. The Vision1040 reduces overall system costs by cutting programming time, minimizing hardware requirements, saving cabinet space—and, above all—exempting the user from setting up Panel-PLC communication.
