Engineering firm opens an office in Monterrey, the heart of the steel industry in Mexico.

September 27, 2007 - Providence, RI: Walco opened an office in Monterrey, the heart of the steel industry in Mexico. The opening of the Monterrey office and its close proximity to the metals processing industry, one of the target industries for the Automation and Controls group, allows Walco to more effectively serve customers in Mexico. Monterrey is the third largest city, located in northern Mexico. It leads the country in financial and industrial activity. The steel industry has a long history in Monterrey dating back to the installation of the first steel blast furnace in Latin America.

Since then, numerous companies have been started producing steel related products.Walco is one of the largest industrial service and automation engineering companies in the country. The company was founded in 1931 in Providence, Rhode Island and is comprised of three completely integrated business groups – Automation & Controls, Industrial Power Systems and Rail Transportation/Locomotive.
