This ISA co-hosted webinar on DCS upgrade and migration strategies was presented by Tim Gellner, senior consultant at MAVERICK Technologies, a Rockwell Automation company.

Migrating a legacy DCS platform to a modern one is a challenging and expensive undertaking. Due to finite outage durations and lost revenue during downtime, the emphasis is often centered only on the near-term objectives of getting old hardware and software out and the new in with as little disruption as possible. The end result almost always becomes an updated version of what was there to begin with. In this webinar, we will present an alternative methodology for DCS migrations that implements a holistic approach to the controls and automation program, providing a roadmap for the future in which the migration follows the roadmap instead of determining it.
