The Zscaler ThreatLabz research team unveiled its annual Ransomware Research report. The report:
- tracks the rise in ransomware attacks,
- identifies the most active ransomware families that have emerged over the past year,
- ranks the top industries and countries that are being targeted and
- provides advice to organizations on what they should do to prevent becoming a ransomware victim.
In addition, the report uncovered a record-breaking ransomware payment–nearly double the highest publicly known ransomware payout.
