BURGAW, N.C. (April 4, 2003) – Wieland Electric, Inc is proud to announce a comprehensive line of fuse holder style blocks that are DIN rail mountable and take up to 15% less space than traditional holders. The unique “finger-safe” design with recessed screws and a fuse extraction door afford you IP-20 grade protection and qualify as “finger-safe” under IEC standards. Fingers simply cannot touch live parts.

The fuse holders are made with a permanently attached, pivoting fuse door which simplifies and speeds fuse extraction and change outs. No tools or accessories are needed. This extraction door is lockable to meet OSHA requirements and prevent personnel from accidentally energizing equipment that is off-line for repairs or maintenance. Other features of these ULTRASAFE™ fuse holder includes a vented design which provides adequate airflow around the holders at all times. This means the fuse holder always “runs cool”.

The fuse holders are furnished with the pressure plates backed out to simplify wire terminations; simply insert the wire, tighten and go. A long lasting, neon indicator light helps you identify the down circuit fast. This allows you to clear the problem, replace the fuse, and get back on-line fast. To make room for any fuse holder or component, simply unlatch the DIN rail adapter, slide the holder to the desired position, and relock. Wieland will offer Class CC fuse holders and fuse holders for Midget fuses in the following configurations: from 1 pole through 4 pole; 1 pole through 4 pole with indicator; 1 pole with indicator (12-24), (20-24) and (35-48); 3 pole with a fourth neutral pole; and 4 pole with integral neutral link.

The Class CC models are UL listed and CSA certified for branch circuit protection and the Midget models are UL recognized and CSA certified for supplementary and high speed protection. The Class CC and Midget model fuse holders have a voltage rating of 600 VAC with special indicator DC voltages of 24V, 48V at 30 Amps and a wire range of 6-14 AWG.

For more information about or a comprehensive list of the fuse holder part numbers, customers may contact their local distributor, or call (800) Wieland; or fax (910) 259-3691; by mail at Wieland Electric Inc., 49 International Road, Burgaw, NC 28425; or on the worldwide web at www.wielandinc.com .
