The funding will support development of testing technologies to protect global critical infrastructure from cyber threats.

VANCOUVER, BC – November 1 2007 – Wurldtech Security Technologies announced an agreement with the Canadian National Research Council’s Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP) that will provide the company with a significant funding package to support the development of new testing technologies designed to protect global critical infrastructure from cyber threats. The NRC-IRAP funding will be used to develop the next version of Wurldtech’s proprietary “BlackPeer” testing technology, which will be capable of providing vendors and operators of mission-critical systems with unprecedented visibility into potential cyber vulnerabilities.

Working together with internationally-recognized industrial network and security experts at the University of Victoria, Wurldtech expects the first version to be delivered by Q1, 2008, and subsequently added as a feature to its commercial product in Q3, 2008. “This investment will help us to accelerate the development of our next-generation testing algorithms designed specifically to improve the quality, reliability and security of industrial control systems,” said Dr. Nate Kube, CTO of Wurldtech. “With this funding, we now have access to an extraordinary array of engineering and academic resources that is necessary for the development of this revolutionary technology.”

“The participation of the NRC-IRAP in this project provides Wurldtech with a significant boost in R&D resources at a pivotal time in our development process,” added Tyler Williams, CEO of Wurldtech. “Our goal now is to bring this next innovation of our technology to full commercialization, including installation at current customer sites around the world.”IRAP is designed to stimulate technological innovation in Canada through the support of small and medium-sized companies who are developing new and innovative technologies. The program offers direct technical assistance, access to technological advances and facilities, expertise in marketing and other business aspects, and cost-shared financing of innovative technical projects.
