FDT and ODVA share a common core mission that includes advancing open, interoperable information and communication exchange for the industrial automation marketplace.

The Open Industry 4.0 Alliance, which was launched at that time, currently has 55 members. In the meantime, four working groups have come together to develop concrete use cases for each of the industry segments and technologies.
