Interact Analysis’s latest update to its Manufacturing Industry Output Tracker (MIO) forecasts a steady but varied recovery for global manufacturing, notwithstanding the fact that some sectors have been hit harder than others during the COVID-19 crisis.

Taking place on May 26th at 16:00pm-17:00pm (CEST), the first live event is expected to attract a crowd of up to 500 delegates. The resulting data shows vendor management and contract negotiation are particularly time-consuming endeavors for IT professionals. Half (50%) reported they work with 11 or more different vendors and nearly half (48%) claim they can spend weeks, or months, renegotiating vendor contracts each year.

The survey, “The State of IT Modernization 2020,” examined the maturity of efforts to optimize IT operating environments, cloud strategies, applications and processes, including progress made, barriers encountered, and variations in initiatives at different phases of the journey.

The study, which was developed with the support of the research and analyst firm LNS Research, found that among global manufacturers only 24% have currently implemented a smart manufacturing initiative.
