Global Operations Expanding With Announcement of First Events at New Exhibition Center in Bangalore November 13, 2006 - (Hannover, Germany) -- Deutsche Messe AG, based in Hannover, Germany, has taken another major step in expanding its global trade fair operations. Together with Milan, Italy-based Fiera Milano S.p.A., a cooperation agreement has been signed with the aim of jointly promoting and staging trade fairs in selected growth markets around the world, including the booming markets of India and China. Three new trade fairs, each representing a key sector driving India's economic growth, have emerged from this alliance and will take place concurrently 27-30 November 2007 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Center (BIEC). 1. Industrial Automation INDIA: production and process automation 2. Motion, Drive & Automation INDIA (MDA INDIA): power transmission and control technology; energy value chain 3. CeMAT INDIA: intralogistics (materials handling and logistics) According to the organizers, staging these three events concurrently will give exhibitors and attendees a time-efficient and comprehensive overview of industrial markets and interrelated technologies. This concept has already proven successful for Deutsche Messe AG in Hannover and Shanghai. A rich supporting program promises added networking value and business opportunities. A number of international industry associations have already committed their support to MDA INDIA, including the Power Transmission and Control Association within the German Engineering Federation (VDMA), the Italian Association of Manufacturing and Trading Companies in Fluid Power Equipment and Components (ASSOFLUID), and the Italian Association of Gears and Transmission Elements Manufacturers (ASSIOT). VDMA's Materials Handling and Logistics Association has already indicated it will support CeMAT INDIA. Deutsche Messe AG -- which already organizes successful trade fairs in such overseas locations as Australia, China and Turkey -- will be responsible for worldwide marketing of BIEC events. Following the expansion of its activities in the high-growth Chinese marketplace, Deutsche Messe AG is now eager to also serve the trade fair needs of the dynamic Indian market, which is second only to China's. "This new cooperation opens up another chapter in our ongoing globalization strategy," said Ernst Raue, member of the board of Deutsche Messe AG, "and we will continue to pursue this international approach to meet our growth targets."
