NovaTech will acquire the measurement business assets of AREVA T&D, including the complete Bitronics Measurement Product line, its PowerServe, MultiComm and other high-performance electricity measurement instruments. The measurement products will continue to be designed and manufactured in Bethlehem, PA, by Bitronics LLC, a NovaTech affiliate, and will be marketed in the U.S. and western Canada under the well-known Bitronics label.
“This acquisition of the Bitronics product line broadens NovaTech’s product offerings to its electric utility customers,” said Volker Oakey, Chairman of NovaTech. “Bitronics has been a market leader in providing electricity-measuring instruments to their electric utility customers for many years. The instruments are characterized by their ruggedness and ability to provide accurate electricity measurements over wide temperature ranges and under demanding environmental conditions. NovaTech already serves electric utility customers with its popular Orion Automation Platform along with integration tools and services.

The agreement calls for AREVA T&D to continue marketing electricity measuring instruments, designed and manufactured by Bitronics, through AREVA sales channels outside the U.S. under the AREVA brand label.
