Tommy Rahbek Nielsen will be appointed as president of Flender Business Segment Wind, effective Sept. 1, 2025.

Aug. 21, 2025 – Flender, a leading global supplier of mechanical and electrical drive systems, is pleased to announce the appointment of Tommy Rahbek Nielsen as President of its Business Segment Wind, effective September 1, 2025. Tommy Rahbek Nielsen will succeed Aarnout Kant, who will continue to spearhead strategic global projects within the company and maintain his role as General Manager Americas, reporting directly to the Group CEO. With its Winergy products Flender is a market leader for wind turbine drive systems including the core components gearbox, generator, and direct-drive segments.
Tommy Rahbek Nielsen brings extensive experience in management, supply chain and financial strategy within the wind industry. In his most recent position, he served as executive vice president and chief operating officer (COO) at Vestas Wind Systems A/S. His tenure at wind turbine manufacturer Vestas was marked by significant accomplishments, including the development and implementation of global manufacturing and supply chain strategies, and a successful integration of the offshore operations. His experience derives from being working in a global environment since 2004, which includes key markets such as Germany and China, where he played a pivotal role in advancing the wind industry.
