Antaira 'BABA' Compliant Industrial Ethernet Switch Wins 2025 GOVIES Government Security Award

LAS VEGAS, Nevada - May 9, 2025 - Antaira Technologies is proud to introduce the LMX-1204G-SFP-T-BABA Gigabit Ethernet switch, the company’s first industrial networking device to achieve Build America, Buy America (BABA) Act compliant status.

BABA aims to support domestic manufacturing, create American jobs and build a more stable and secure supply chain for infrastructure projects. BABA mandates a domestic content preference and confirmation the product is manufactured in the U.S. for infrastructure projects funded by federal financial assistance. 

Recognizing innovation, the GOVIES Government Security Awards just named the Antaira LMX-1204G-SFP-T-BABA as winner of its coveted Video Hardware & Accessories category. Launched in 2009, The GOVIES honors outstanding government security products in a variety of categories, including artificial intelligence, security and risk intelligence and video surveillance cameras.

As video surveillance systems continue to migrate to fully networked IP infrastructures, this 12-port DIN-rail managed switch is optimized for the move with robust managed security capabilities and upgraded support for VLAN segregation and QoS, along with SFP slots to enable long-range fiber connectivity and multiple network redundancy protocols that ensure the most secure, reliable communication.
 

BABA compliance

The Antaira LMX-1204G-SFP-T-BABA is among the first industrial Ethernet switches on the market to comply with BABA requirements. Enacted in 2021 as part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), BABA mandates strict U.S. domestic sourcing for U.S. government-funded programs, whether they are federal projects, or state and local projects. In addition to broadband and telecommunications, BABA requirements extend to transportation, energy and water systems. 

With established manufacturing facilities in Taiwan and Europe, Antaira has expanded its operations by introducing manufacturing in the USA. In July 2023, Antaira identified the market needs for BABA-compliant products and held executive-level discussions about what was needed for the company to become a BABA compliant manufacturer.  

Having recognized a need for larger warehouse space, the company moved its Global Headquarters from Brea, CA to Las Vegas, NV. Antaira established a dedicated team focused on USA manufacturing and BABA compliance, sending the newly formed BABA team to Taiwan for specialized training on the company's manufacturing, quality assurance and quality control processes. 
 

Network redundancy

The LMX-1204G-SFP-T-BABA supports the open standard ITU-T G.8032 ERPS protocol, IEEE 802.1D STP (Spanning Tree Protocol), IEEE 802.1w RSTP (Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol) and IEEE 802.1s MSTP (Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol), enabling network recovery.
 

Safeguarding networks

To prevent unauthorized access to networks, the LMX-1204G-SFP-T-BABA employs RADIUS, 802.1X and TACACS+ protocols to enable the authenticating, authorizing and accounting of users attempting to gain access to the network. Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs) can be easily configured to split the physical network into isolated virtual networks. Quality of Service (QoS) improves network security by prioritizing security-related traffic.
 

Industrial design

The LMX-1204G-SFP-T-BABA has a rugged IP30-rated metal enclosure for operation in harsh environments, with an operating temperature range of -40°F to 167°F (-40°C to 75°C) and fanless design. This switch is designed for use in security, transportation, power utilities and other federally funded applications. Antaira plans to continue adding to the BABA series of products.
