ABB and TOTALFINAELF sign eight-year frame agreement

Paris, France, April 21, 2003 - ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, has signed an eight year frame agreement with Total Fina Elf (TFE) for a Terminal Automation System based on ABB's Industrial IT technology. The Terminal Automation System will be spread out in all TFE European terminals and refinery off sites throughout eight European countries.The scope of supply includes 61 terminals, engineering as well as training, site services and maintenance. The Industrial IT for terminals with the T-MAC embedded solution will help TFE link their terminals and refineries to one common communication platform all controlled from one place.

"We have offered TFE a unique Terminal automation System solution in order to help them lower their costs," said ABB's Terminal Solutions Manager Wilco Lengkeek. "We believe ABB was chosen for this project based on ABB's innovative solutions and global team presence."
