Quebec City, Canada, August 4, 2003 ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, will be the new licensee for Paprican's mid and near infrared advanced analytical technology.ABB was assigned the license by Paprican after it acquired the existing Advanced Process Control business of Aker-Kvaerner Canada Inc. The patented technology from Paprican employs spectroscopic techniques and mill-proven equipment to analyze important chemical concentrations in liquid streams found throughout kraft pulp mills. The technology has already been implemented successfully in nine commercial installations in North America.
