ABB's Optimize IT Advanced Blend Control increases production at PKN ORLEN gasoline blending plant

Plock, Poland, June 17, 2003 ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, has successfully upgraded the gasoline blending control system for the PKN ORLEN plant located in Plock, Poland.PKN ORLEN has one of the most modern gasoline blending plants in the world with one of the largest number of blending components and possible blending line-ups.The changeover from PKN ORLEN's existing system to ABB's Industrial IT solution was awarded in October 2002 and has been successfully delivered ahead of the original schedule.in a short time from signing the contract.

The order included an Optimize IT ABC (Advanced Blend Control) and Optimization system, an RBC (Regulatory Blend Control) system, as well as complete engineering and start-up services." This modernization project has been the smoothest start-up I've experienced," said Waldemar Nagorko, senior automation engineer and manager at PKN ORLEN. "The project was completed on time and on budget with minimal shutdown time."
