Adept Technology Announces iSight Integrated PC-based Vision Guidance Products

LIVERMORE, Calif. - April 14, 2005 - Adept Technology, Inc. (OTCBB:ADEO), a leading manufacturer of robotic systems, motion control and machine vision technology, unveiled Adept iSight, the first member of a new product family integrating PC-based vision with Adept's robotic and motion control products. Adept iSight is designed to work seamlessly with the Adept Cobra i-series SCARA robots, making the development and use of vision location, guidance and inspection applications simpler, faster, and more powerful.

Additional products will be rolled out over time that will work with other Adept robots and controllers." "Adept iSight is innovative and improves the customers' benefits and results from high precision vision and motion control in a very cost-effective non-proprietary package." Adept iSight is the result of the tight integration of Adept HexSight PC-Based vision with the Adept Cobra i-series, the first robot to embed all controls and I/O in its base.

The vision technology is based on the HexSight Locator, the industrial robot markets, fastest and most reliable object location tool featuring multi-model and built-in calibration support. The resulting integration of these proven technologies on a open PC system will allow customers to quickly develop, test and launch vision guidance applications without the need for complex development tools, training and support.Adept iSight is a complete package that includes the application toolset, the vision software, vision and vision-to-robot calibration wizards, the camera and lens and the accessories to provide a complete out of the box solution.

Adept iSight, provides both a cost effective entry product and a high performance application platform for system integrator, automation OEM and end use customer of conventional and flexible precision assembly and material handling applications in the manufacturing and packaging of automotive, consumer, telecom and industrial electronics and products.Adept iSight will be available May 16th.
