The main improvement lies in its ESD protection. Unpredictable static electricity is common in industrial environments, and without ESD protection built-in, Ethernet network break down is possible. The upgraded ADAM-6520-B provides maximum network stability for applications in harsh environments.
Solid Screw Terminals
Another upgrade is the solid screw terminal design. Industrial-grade switches are a critical component to any system that relies on an Ethernet network. Using a normal clamp connector for the switch power lines is not recommended, since the wires could get tangled in moving mechanical parts, or on the foot of an unfortunate system operator. This design upgrade guarantees that power lines are firmly fixed to the ADAM-6520-B.

The ADAM-6520-B supports a voltage range of 10 to 30 VDC and an operating temperature range of -10 to 70°C.
