February 1, 2007 - AMETEK® Pittman Inc. has entered into a distribution agreement with Avnet Electronics Marketing. Under the agreement, Avnet Electronics Marketing will serve as a stocking distributor worldwide for all PITTMAN® brand products, effective immediately. The resulting partnership is expected to expand opportunities for both companies and provide their customers with enhanced motor solutions and customization capabilities.Products covered under the agreement include PITTMAN brand brush-commutated and electronically commutated BLDC motors and stepper motors.
PITTMAN motor applications include data storage, medical and electronic equipment, factory automation, and commercial aviation, among others.Avnet Electronics Marketing enjoys a rich history and leadership position in the motor modification business. The Avnet Motor Modification Center in Dallas, TX, provides motors and gearmotors with the ability to make mechanical, physical, and electrical modifications. It offers ISO-9002 qualified services including application engineering assistance, prototypes, and volume production."
