June 8, 2011 - Calex announces LP series 240 Watt DC/DC converters, which feature a 4:1 input range. The LP series offers a 36 Volt input range in a 240 Watt 2.3" x 2.4" x 0.55"H package.

The 9 to 36 Volt input range makes the LP ideal for mobile battery powered applications (12V) as well as industrial (24V) and military COTS (28V) requiring a wide input range. The LP Series complements Calex's 100, 150 and 400 Watt 4:1 input range offering giving designers a variety of options tailored to their application. The output voltages available with the LP Series are 12, 15, 24, 28 and 48VDC. No minimum load is required for proper operation. All models are fully isolated input to output.

The case is floating and can be easily grounded via a variety of grounding options. The efficiency of the LP runs as high as 90%. The switching frequency is fixed at 210 kHz. The operating temperature range of the LP is -40 to 100C. All models feature over-temperature shutdown with auto re-start, pulse by pulse current limiting, input reverse polority protection, and overvoltage protection.

Additional features include logic ON/OFF and output trim. The OFF idle current for the LP Series is 40mA. The output trim range is -25 to +10%. The temperature coefficient is only 0.03 %/C.

Line and load regulation is 0.1% and 0.2% respectively. All models are housed in a rugged five sided shielded case with threaded inserts for heatsink or backplane mounting. All models are fully encapsulated with a thermally conductive potting material making the units ideal for temperature sensitive applications with limited airflow.

For military COTS applications non-RoHS construction is available. All LP Models are backed by Calex's Five Year Warranty. Contact the factory for lead time and pricing.
