(Sydney, Australia) – Citect Corporation Limited (“Citect”; ASX: CTL), is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Richard Webb as CEO and Managing Director, effective 1 April 2005.Mr Webb, 47 brings to the role over 25 years experience in the food and beverage and technology sectors and has a strong track record for delivering superior returns to shareholders. He joins Citect from Nielsen//NetRatings (NASDAQ: NTRT), a Deloitte Technology Fast 50 company, where he has been President of Asia Pacific and Latin America for the last twelve months. Prior to this, he was CEO for RedSheriff for five years before it was acquired by Nielsen//NetRatings. Under Mr Webb’s leadership, RedSheriff grew its revenue thirty-fold, and became both a Deloitte Technology Fast 50 and a BRW Fast 100 company.
Mr Webb was also instrumental in raising product development and expansion capital in New York and London, expanding its global presence from a start-up in Australia to become the world’s largest web analytics and market intelligence vendor and launching a suite of patented software and technology application services. A professional engineer by training, Mr Webb’s extensive management experience extends to founding data-mining company, BrandScape and design consultancy, Raw Design.
He has also held MD and CEO positions at Sensient Technologies Corporation (NYSE: SXT) and Cott Corporation (NASDAQ: COTT) respectively; and was responsible for the significant expansion of PepsiCo’s (NYSE: PEP) international bottling and distribution infrastructure as Group Manager of International Engineering. Various other senior management roles were held in Europe, Asia, South America and North America with Lion Nathan (ASX: LNN). PepsiCo, and Anheuser Busch (NYSE: BUD). Commenting on his new appointment Mr Webb said: “My key challenge will be to continue growing all areas of Citect in Australia and worldwide through continued understanding of customers’ needs, delivering high quality innovative software and services and capitalising on our expanding distribution capabilities.”
