NEW THOMSON METRIC LEAD SCREWS FROM DANAHER MOTION PROVIDE QUIET, FAST AND PRECISE OPERATION

WOOD DALE, IL – Danaher Motion introduces Thomson Metric Lead Screws. Available in diameters from 10 mm to 24 mm and leads from 2 mm to 45 mm, these lead screws are ideal for positioning light to medium loads in a wide range of equipment where fast, precise and reliable positioning is a primary objective. Potential applications include semiconductor manufacturing, medical, laboratory / life science equipment, and engraving, among others. “Metric lead screws offer new levels of precision made possible by virtue of our innovative Supernut® design that eliminates backlash. Additionally, DIN 103 compliant thread forms are available, as are proprietary optimized forms in select sizes.

These thread designs reduce localized stresses and increase performance,” says Kevin Long, Product Manager. Most notable of the new metric lead screw family is the XC series that uses patented ActiveCAM® technology to provide a rigid stainless steel cam for biasing. This achieves the highest possible axial stiffness and absolute minimum drag torque available in the industry today. The mechanism also eliminates the need for other types of anti-backlash mechanisms that lead to high drag torque, poor performance and shorter life. The XC Series requires no additional parts or complicated connections that can compromise axial stiffness.

Because ActiveCAM® applies very little axial force, wear life is increased and performance consistency is maintained. Many configurations are available from stock to suit a variety of size and mounting requirements. Screws can be machined to meet customer specification within days. Custom lead screw assemblies are available for OEM applications that demand special characteristics, including custom nuts, sizes, materials and coatings.
