August 21, 2008 - Dotworkz introduced an all-weather version of its D2 surveillance camera enclosure. The new Dotworkz D2-HB has all the legacy features that have made the D2 the most dependable enclosure in the security industry, along with a thermostatically controlled heater-blower system that prevents sensitive IP cameras from being damaged in either excessively hot or cold weather. The all-weather D2-HB is engineered for conditions ranging from 15° F (-9° C) to 105° F (41° C). To combat the cold, the unit's heater automatically activates at 40° F (4° C) and deactivates at 60° F (15° C) with a thermal cut-off assuring safe heating operation.
The blower remains on at all time, keeping cameras cool and fog free. The ultimate barrier between a camera and the environment, the D2-HB significantly reduces weather-related wear-and-tear. It is rated IP65 and NEMA4X to be water, dust and air tight.
Plus, because outdoor surveillance cameras are often subject to vandalism, it is engineered to be virtually indestructible with an impact-resistant lens and a polycarbonate thermoplastic housing.A roomy interior provides space for optional components, including an on-board network video recorder (NVR), routers, cell networks, hard drives, UPS, WiMAX and mesh hardware. The D2-HB is compatible with IP cameras from Axis, Sony, Toshiba and other leading brands.
