The highly integrated DPAC Airborne™ 802.11b Wireless LAN Node Module allows OEMs to quickly and cost effectively wireless–enable their solutions, in markets that include Transportation, Medical, Industrial Control and Automation, Point-Of-Sale, Security, Homeland Security and Military. Incorporating a web server that permits "drop–in" LAN and Internet connectivity, the Airborne Module includes a radio, base–band processor, application processor and software. OEMs don't have to develop software or possess RF/wireless expertise to deploy the module, allowing them to substantially cut product development costs while accelerating times–to–market. The Airborne Module features an extremely small footprint, making it easy to embed into new or existing designs.

It is interoperable with industry–standard 802.11b and 802.11g access points that provide a cost–efficient infrastructure for LAN/Internet connections. The module's built–in, reliable TCP/IP stack, Real–Time Operating System (RTOS) and application software provide embedded devices with instant LAN and Internet connectivity — with no special module programming needed.

Only simple configuration is required via DPAC's HTML interface. The highly flexible Airborne Module is robust, with industrial temperature and power management capabilities. The module offers digital and analog I/O ports, and supports multiple embedded serial interfaces that include high–speed serial UART, I2C and SPI.
