April 19, 2010 – Hirose Electric expanded its HR30 Circular Connector Series by developing an option that accepts a user-specified over-molded strain relief. The over-mold feature is ideal for demanding applications that require durability and environmental protection, in a cost effective package. Communications and industrial markets will benefit from the simplified assembly and reduced overall costs of the over-mold strain relief. Additionally, the over mold capability prevents damage caused by tampering or unauthorized assembly. This HR30 product enhancement is available in all shell sizes and enables customers to specify multiple over-mold strain relief designs including straight, right angle, and 45°.

The HR30 series has a lightweight design with simple push-pull operation and is available in solder or crimp termination. Insulation resistance is 1000MΩ at 100V DC, with a maximum contact resistance of up to 30 mΩ, at 1A DC. Current rating is 5A (3 positions) and 2A (6, 10, 12 positions), with a voltage rating of 100V AC (3 positions) and 30V AC (10 and 12 positions). Operating temperature ranges from -25°C to +85°C.
