June 7, 2011 - HIWIN's SW sealing system lets linear guideways be used in applications where large amounts of dust or dirt have prevented successful installation until now, e.g. in woodworking machines, in the paper industry or in stone and plastics processing. The system consists of a top seal, an end seal with a double lip and a bottom seal. Optionally, it is also available with a metal wiper.
It optimally protects the carriage from dirt and prevents the leakage of lubricant, thereby ensuring longer lubrication intervals and minimizing maintenance costs. Tests in dusty atmospheres have shown that carriages with SW dust protection have a lifespan that is up to ten times higher than that of carriages with standard sealings. SW sealing systems are available for the linear guideway sizes HG-15 to HG-45.
