New Control System at Polyolefins plant in Portugal Will Reduce Downtime, Increase Production
PHOENIX, Jan. 8, 2003 -- Honeywell (NYSE: HON) Process Solutions today announced that it has signed a contract with Borealis Polímeros, Lda for the implementation of a comprehensive automation solution that includes Honeywell Experion PKS® and Fail Safe Controller (FSC®). The order will reduce downtime and increase production at Borealis' Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) plant at Sines, Portugal and is worth over $1 million.Honeywell and Borealis Polímeros have worked together on previous successful automation projects. The plant currently has two TDC 3000 systems, a TPS system and three Fail Safe Controllers.
