EVERETT, Wash. July 13, 2005 - Funk Software's Odyssey® Client and Server and Steel-Belted Radius® security suite is available to Intermec customers through Intermec's Independent Software Vendor (ISV) partner program. Funk Software's Odyssey Client software is available for Intermec's 700 Color series of handheld devices, as well as the CK30 mobile computer and the CV60 rugged vehicle mount terminals.

Odyssey Client permits a secure connection to 802.1x-based WLAN and wired networks and supports multiple 802.1x security types over all platforms, ensuring compatibility in any network environment. With the addition of Odyssey Client, Intermec devices support all of the most current EAP security standards, as well as Cisco's LEAP.In addition to providing security benefits, Odyssey Client includes configuration tools that greatly simplify how Intermec device users connect to the network.

Odyssey speeds up the time it takes to get users up and running and reduces overall support costs.Intermec customers also can purchase and connect with Funk Software's Odyssey Server and Steel-Belted Radius. Odyssey Server is a RADIUS server ideally suited for smaller applications or autonomous networks in larger organizations that want to keep WLAN security separate from the network infrastructure. Specially designed to handle WLAN access control and security, Odyssey Server adds policy management and enhanced accounting capabilities that provide strong access control and accountability of 802.1x-based wireless and wired connections to the network.

Steel-Belted Radius is a powerful RADIUS server that manages and secures WLAN, remote/VPN, and wired 802.1X (role-based) access. It lets network managers enforce a uniform security policy across all users, regardless of access method. "Our RADIUS servers Odyssey Server and Steel-Belted Radius meet the access control and policy-enforcement requirements of enterprises small and large," said Funk Software vice president Joe Ryan. "Odyssey Client software is easily deployed and maintained across all client devices and allows companies to quickly deploy secure WLAN access to all their users.

We're proud that Intermec selected Funk Software to serve as an Independent Software Vendor to its customers."
