BURLINGTON, ONTARIO, CANADA – July 11, 2006 – Neil Cooper, general manager of the Invensys Avantis business unit, will speak at the 2006 Canadian Manufacturing Week Expo and Conference this September. Presenting “W-26 Path to Asset Performance and Reliability,” Mr. Cooper will describe a holistic asset performance management (APM) approach that extends the scope of asset management beyond its traditional focus on improving equipment availability. Citing a proven APM methodology, Mr. Cooper will demonstrate the importance of improving equipment utilization, toward the eventual objective of optimizing performance of the entire business.
He will also examine the challenge at each of the three layers of asset optimization: equipment availability, equipment utilization, and business optimization. Cooper brings extensive experience and technical expertise in implementing asset management throughout all levels of the plant’s business. At Avantis, he is responsible for directing all aspects of the Avantis business, including implementation of Avantis Enterprise Asset Management solutions to the process industries. Cooper’s presentation is part of the three-day conference and expo being held September 26-28 at the International Centre in Mississauga (Toronto), Ontario.
