September 10, 2008 - MGV has extended its range of Super Slim SPH1013 power supplies to include models with outputs of 48 VDC and 72 VDC. In addition to the 24V/40A version, these ultra slim appliances producing 1000W are now also available with output voltages of 48 VDC (adjustable from 40-55 VDC) and 72 VDC (56-80 VDC). They offer a wide range three-phase input of 340-550 VAC and also work on IT and Delta networks. Operators of DC drives with supply voltages of up to 80 VDC will be among those to benefit from these new power supplies. Thanks to their book size and a mounting width of only 66 mm, the appliances ensure an optimal fit in all switching cabinets, regardless of the layout.

To meet high short-term current requirements for connected appliances, an output power boost provides 200% of the rated current for 2 sec. – both during the start-up phase and ongoing operation. The power supplies offer feedback protection up to either 63 VDC (48V model) or 100 VDC (72V model), with no cut-off in the event of backplane input. Assemblies are available for both wall and DIN-rail mounting. Ambient temperatures of between -25° C and +70° C are acceptable (2% derating from 60° C).

Component temperatures of >60°C activate an internal fan. This also allows the power supplies to be mounted in any position. The SPH1013 series has been tested according to EN60950 and is UL60950 and UL508 listed. An internal mains fuse, protection against overvoltage and overloading, as well as an overtemperature cut-off device ensure a high level of operating safety, preventing both the power supply and connected appliances from being damaged or destroyed in the event of an operational error or fan failure. In spite of their ultra slim design, the power supplies guarantee an immission level of up to 4 kV in accordance with prevailing industry standards.

MGV offers a wider range of compact DIN-rail power supplies with outputs of between 15 and 2000 watts. All power supplies are developed and produced in Munich. There is a three-year guarantee on all standard MGV power supplies.
