May 22, 2017 - The MPV4080S series is a family of 40W DC/DC converters specifically designed to meet the needs of utility scale photovoltaic (PV) applications. They feature a 200 to 1500 VDC input; which allows the use of longer solar panel strings (which in turn reduces the number of combiner boxes required).
Three models provide outputs of 12, 15 and 24 VDC. All models are protected for overvoltage, over current and short circuit faults. They also feature undervoltage protection, which can insure system stability in the event the PV system suffers frequent restarts (caused by varying sunlight intensity). The MTBF (per MIL HDBK 217F) of the MPV4080S is greater than 300 khours.
All models of the MPV4080S family are packaged in a 4.9 x 2.9 x 1.57 inch, encapsulated case. Each model is specified for operation over the operating temperature range of 40° C to +70°C ambient.
Cooling is by free-air convection.
