MILWAUKEE, May 23, 2005 – Paper manufacturers looking to improve productivity and paper roll quality in winding applications will benefit from the new WindPro winder control solution from Rockwell Automation. Using WindPro, manufacturers can monitor and control paper roll density and help prevent quality defects, such as wrinkles and tears, on two drum winders. The WindPro solution includes advanced visualization hardware and software to provide real-time winder control and monitoring in one location. Manufacturers can view the entire winding process and adjust the torque split between front and rear drums, nip pressure and paper tension to help ensure the proper roll density. In addition, WindPro can incorporate winder machine logic such as roll handling and safety gate control.
