The Series 4000 is Pepperl+Fuchs’ newest line of Type X purging systems—a result of the recent acquisition of Bebco EPS Division. This fully automated system transforms Division 1/Zone 1 hazardous areas to nonhazardous and purges enclosures up to 250 cubic feet (7 cubic meters). These units pressurize the enclosure while the large gauges make it easy to monitor the process status with designations for Low, Safe and High pressure. The Series 4000 also tracks 12 start-up and run functions clearly labeled and enhanced by LEDs visible from 50 feet.The system is designed to be flexible: a universal bracket enables top/bottom or left/right mounting, and to accommodate specific applications, individual components can be ordered separately to create a custom design.
Other highlights include a redundant microprocessor, real-time pressure and timer adjustments, a 5-amp alarm relay and two 10-amp power relays. The unit also contains an intrinsic safety barrier that powers the I.S. solenoid valve.
