Phoenix Contact Announces Industrial Power Supplies Certified for Hazardous Locations

Harrisburg, PA – Phoenix Contact is pleased to announce its family of QUINT G2 Power Supplies are now approved for use in the Class I, Division 2 hazardous areas. In addition, two of the company’s power supplies and a diode redundancy model are also approved for ATEX, Zone 2 hazardous areas.The power supplies provide universal 24 volt power with output currents of 2.5, 5, 10, 20, 30 and 40 amps and can accommodate a wide input voltage range for both AC and DC.

The output currents are available with a regulated and adjustable output voltage of 22.5 to 28.5 V DC. In addition to 24 volt adjustable outputs, 12 and 48 volt adjustable outputs are also available. The units are DIN-rail mountable, fully enclosed, have integral function monitoring via dual alarm outputs with LED indication and incorporate Phoenix Contact screw actuated terminal blocks for ease of wiring.

The isolated relay contact and an active transistor switching output provide preventive function monitoring. To achieve 100% redundancy, the power supplies can be connected in parallel using the redundancy module.The Class I, Division 2 approval applies to the entire QUINT G 2 amperage range, while the ATEX, Zone 2 approval applies to new 5A and 10A versions. All of the QUINT G 2 power supply units are UL 60 950 and UL 508 listed. Phoenix Contact Inc.
